The Final Show/Down, alternatively formatted The Final Showdown,[1] is the twenty-third and final episode of Walker, Texas Ranger Season 9. It premiered on May 19, 2001 on CBS. While it is the series finale, it was followed four years later by the TV movie Trial by Fire.
The Final Showdown is a double-length episode. For syndication and streaming, it is often split into two separate episodes, respectively titled The Final Showdown Part 1 and The Final Showdown Part 2.

Series finale: A gang that Walker helped put in jail escapes and seeks revenge.

Plot[]
Emile Lavocat breaks his 4 top lieutenants out of prison to help kill the Rangers that put him behind bars. Lavocat caused the deaths of CD, Jensen, attempted to murder Trivette and ambushed Wade & Betsy Harper. A Hayes Cooper story parallels the modern day story.

- Gridiron legend-turned-blaxploitation icon Fred "the Hammer" Williamson was considered for the dual role of Emil/Moon Lavocat, before the producers decided on Marshall Teague, [2]
- Marshall Teague had previously guest-starred on several episodes of WTR...including the series pilot, "One Riot, One Ranger", where he also portrayed the leading villain.
